North Dakota Soybeans Represented at Chinese Soyfood Show

NDTO staff returned from attending the 2017 China Soyfood Processing Equipment Conference & Exhibition in Wuhan, China this week, where North Dakota food-grade soybean companies were represented. NDTO’s International Business Development Manager, Jiwon Kim, gave several presentations to an audience of Chinese buyers during the trip, which was largely funded by the North Dakota Soybean Council.

Kim presented information on the state’s food-grade soybean production, the Northern Food Grade Soybean Association (NFGSA) and the NDTO. The goal of the presentations and attendance at the show was to introduce potential buyers to North Dakota’s high quality, food-grade, identity-preserved soybeans and encourage potential buyers to participate in the China-North Dakota Reverse Trade Mission that NDTO is planning to hold in August 2017.

During the trip, Kim also confirmed the cooperation of several co-organizers of the August 2017 China Reverse Trade Mission. The USDA Foreign Agricultural Service’s Agricultural Trade Office in Beijing and the Bean Products Committee of China National Food Industry Association will partner with NDTO to bring Chinese soybean buyers to North Dakota this summer.
