The City of Harvey, North Dakota is situated at the head waters of the Sheyenne River. Harvey’s unique Dakotan connection is its proximity to the Lonetree Wildlife Management Area to is southwest and the Butte De Morale to its northeast. Linked to the North Country National Scenic Trail, this area represents a unique wildlife management and recreation opportunity for residents and visitors alike.  And, the Butte De Morale, only 6 miles northeast of Harvey links the city with its historic past, hearkening back to 1851 when a battle erupted between the Metis of Winnipeg, Canada and the high plains Sioux over bison hunting rights along both banks of the Sheyenne River leading to its headwaters located within today’s Lonetree Wildlife Management Area.  The ensuing battle occurred north and south of the Butte De Morale thereby ensuring that numerous arrow heads, shafts, and other artifacts would be found by settler households who homesteaded north and east of Harvey later in the century!

Harvey is a progressive community with a country appeal. Those who live in Harvey experience a great education system, abundant recreational opportunities for all ages with weather for all seasons, high-quality medical services, excellent city services and brand-new infrastructure, a low-crime rate and a first-rate retirement community.  They city’s business sector is vibrant with its opportunity zone designation, Renaissance Zone, new retail and clinical growth, and an enterprising agricultural sector.

As you gaze around you will see a community surrounded by rolling plains, the Butte De Morale, rich agricultural land, numerous wetlands, and the natural beauty of the Sheyenne River. We invite you to visit Harvey and experience first-hand what we have to offer: a small town with great community spirit, big ideas for the future and an attitude of hospitality.

Dakota Growers Pasta is served at leading national chain restaurants, a reflection of our quality, service and value.

Quality starts with the durum wheat, and that’s why we use only No. 1 Hard Amber Durum Wheat, including varieties that score high for gluten strength. As a result, Dakota Growers Pasta:

Significantly resists overcooking and remains al dente longer than pasta made from other classes of wheat.
Has longer holding power on steam tables and for reheating.
Better shape retention and a brighter amber hue through the cooked stage.
A larger al dente "sweet spot" means less waste, greater customer satisfaction and more profit.
We offer traditional and custom pasta shapes that are as creative as your recipes. We can help with menu development as well.

Golden Path Solutions started from an idea. How can we help students in high school or just starting higher-ed navigate the path to their career? How do we connect students with employers who are trying to find them? And finally, how do we help employers build the workforce of the future with the right talents, the right skills, and the right education?

We achieve this by offering solutions to students and employers. We work with students, using experiences during their school years to identify the student’s skills, talents, and what careers might be a great fit, helping them make better decisions about schooling and what careers to pursue. At the same time, we work with employers to identify the raw talents, skills, and education needed to succeed in specific roles, providing information that can be used for job descriptions, hiring, or talent management. But then we do something special. We allow students to make themselves searchable to employers who are looking for them, and we compare their skills and talents with the job profile.  If there’s a match, we create an agreement where the employer can influence the student’s education path in exchange for internships and coops while the student is in school, and tuition reimbursement and a job when the student graduates. Everyone wins!

We believe we can fundamentally change the way students navigate their future and how employers develop their future workforce. We believe bringing students, employers, and higher education together as partners is the best path. The Golden Path!

The future of energy is “growing our own.” Our Blue Flint and Dakota Spirit biorefineries buy locally-grown corn and turn it into clean-burning ethanol. We create a steady market for North Dakota farmers as we build a renewable, sustainable energy future for our country.

Our Blue Flint plant located near Underwood, North Dakota has been in operation since 2007. Every year, Blue Flint purchases 23 million bushels of corn from North Dakota farmers and uses it to produce over 70 million gallons of ethanol, as well as distillers grains for livestock feed and corn oil for biodiesel production. The plant also provides E85 to retail fuel stations all across the state.

We built on the success of our Blue Flint plant with Dakota Spirit, co-located next to Great River Energy’s Spiritwood Station near Spiritwood, North Dakota. Spiritwood Station was designed for a dual purpose: generating electricity and providing steam for industrial users. This dual purpose makes Spiritwood an ideal partner for Dakota Spirit. Steam from Spiritwood powers our refining process, giving Dakota Spirit the same advantages as our Blue Flint location: it’s cost-effective, energy efficient and environmentally friendly. Ethanol production began at Dakota Spirit in 2015, and the plant now produces 70 million gallons of ethanol a year, in addition to distillers grains and corn oil.

North Star Caviar is a unique NON-PROFIT company. We began in 1993 as a joint venture of two non-profit organizations... the Williston Area Chamber of Commerce and the Friends of Fort Union/Fort Buford.

Under the agreement forged between North Star Caviar and the North Dakota Game and Fish Department, paddlefish eggs are donated to the project by successful sport fishermen in exchange for having their fish cleaned free of charge. The roe is then processed into premium caviar and sold on the world market. We are licensed for export and international CITES trade.

The first portion of each year's proceeds from the sale of caviar is directed to the Game and Fish Department for paddlefish research, information and enforcement. The remaining proceeds are granted back to non-profit groups in the region for historical, cultural, and recreational projects and efforts which improve conditions of habitat and land and water access for outdoor activities.

Red River Commodities was born out of the richness of this region, and we are now proud to play a leadership role in the industries we serve. This leadership position has come, in part, from our single-minded focus on doing what we do best...sourcing specialty crops directly from farmers and processing them for our customers. We have added unique processes and invested in new and modern facilities and equipment, to attain a higher level of product quality. When processing technology could not provide a desired product for a customer, we have turned to genetic hybrid seed research to find positive solutions.

Red River Commodities has taken steps to stabilize the risky business of agriculture production. Locating production facilities in a number of diverse geographical areas allows Red River Commodities to be less dependent on the growing conditions of a single geographic region. Our original plant, located in Fargo, North Dakota, is centered in the birthplace of confection sunflower. Our other plant in Colby, Kansas represents our strategy to develop new confection sunflower production areas. Our Wildlife plants located in Fargo, ND and Lubbock, Texas houses our growing bird food and poultry hobbyiest business. Zevenbergen, the Netherlands, is the home of our Red River - Van Eck BV poppy seed and caraway seed plant.
