NDTO set to lead Trade Mission to Indonesia, Vietnam

The North Dakota Trade Office, in conjunction with the North Dakota Department of Agriculture, will lead companies to Southeast Asia Nov. 30 – Dec. 7, 2011, during the Indonesia and Vietnam Trade Mission.

Eleven North Dakota companies will participate in the Trade Mission, with representation from the IP soybean, dry edible peas and beans, lentils and flaxseed industries, as well as commercial companies and educational institutions.

The first leg of the mission will be in Jakarta, Indonesia with a reception at the Indonesian Ambassador’s residence Nov. 30, 2011.  The second portion of the trip will be in Vietnam, with a reception Dec. 5, 2011, in Ho Chi Minh City.

North Dakota Commissioner of Agriculture, Dough Goehring, will also participate in the Trade Mission.

“Both economies are doing well and growing, and both have decent trade relations with the United States as well as a strong interest in North Dakota products,” said Mark Johnson, NDTO Director of International Management.  “We’re looking forward to a very successful Trade Mission, and we are excited to have Commissioner Goehring accompanying us.”
