Ukrainian Delegation Visits Fargo

A U.S. – Ukraine Trade and Investment Forum is taking place this week, with visitors from Ukraine traveling to North Dakota and Minnesota to attend events on agricultural machinery and grain and oilseed processing technology. Twenty delegates from the Ukrainian agricultural sector visited Fargo area companies and took part in a networking event hosted by the North Dakota Trade Office (NDTO).

Events began Monday in Minneapolis with Valeriy Chaly, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, delivering a keynote address, followed by panel discussions on trade and investment opportunities in the Ukrainian agribusiness industry. Delegates were in Fargo on Tuesday and Wednesday with visits to RDO Equipment, Amity Technology, Titan Machinery and North Dakota State University. Tuesday evening’s networking event included representatives from the above companies as well as representatives from fifteen additional companies that supply agricultural equipment, agricultural buildings, grain storage and handling, and seed. Thursday and Friday are devoted to training in Minneapolis.

Delegates included those from the International Trade Administration’s Special American Business Internship Training (SABIT) program, which builds partnerships and provides technical assistance by training Eurasian business leaders in US business practices. A portion of the Non-SABIT delegates were recruited by the NDTO’s Ukraine Country Representative, Andrey Sova.

The U.S. – Ukraine Trade and Investment Forum was organized by the Minnesota Trade Office, North Dakota Trade Office, Embassy of Ukraine in the U.S. and SABIT.
