Peter Zeihan Returns to Fargo

Back by popular demand, geopolitical strategist Peter Zeihan returns to Fargo on April 4th to bring audience members at the Global Business Connections conference his take on the global economic shift that is currently underway. With his company Zeihan on Geopolitics, and a background as chief analyst at Stratfor Intelligence, Zeihan uses his trademark candor to provide companies with customized global intelligence so that they may chart their own futures. During the conference’s opening keynote, he will offer his geopolitical insights and predictions that are often startling, sometimes funny, and always fascinating.

There’s been plenty of surprises in global politics these days, but for Zeihan, it’s been a long time coming. He anticipated the current global disorder in his 2014 book, “The Accidental Superpower.”

“I’m having a ball,” said Zeihan. “I’ve been predicting for some time that the global system is going to break down and lo and behold, here it is happening.”

According to Zeihan, this is just the beginning of a global shift to a pre-WWII time when the world’s countries were not as reliant – culturally, politically, economically and militarily – on the American position.

“How each country is dealing with, preparing for and trying to ward off the next phase in history is both encouraging and discouraging at the same time, depending on which country you’re looking at.”

Countries that have become dependent on U.S. security while profiting from multi-national supply chains will be forced to find a permanently different way of operating. This forthcoming business climate is something companies and their employees have little knowledge of and no experience.

Zeihan will help companies navigate the risks and opportunities ahead by providing some clarity on the geopolitical environment.

“We’re going back to a very Darwinian system and it’s all going to shake out in the next 12-15 years.”

Zeihan’s keynote will begin on Wednesday, April 4th at 6:30pm with a question and answer period to follow.
