First Quarter 2013 Events

The first quarter of 2013 has been busy for NDTO, our partners and our member companies.   We’ve traveled the world, hosted international leaders and businesspeople and held a variety of educational events.  Here are just a few highlights:

Jan. 8:  NDSU Export Management Course – NDTO and NDSU launched the fourth installment of the course which brings college students and business professionals together to learn about aspects of international business.

Feb. 8:  ExporTech Session 3 – Seven North Dakota companies participated in the program which helps attendees develop an export plan for a viable international market.

Feb. 1-10:  Colombia/Brazil Trade Mission – NDTO and three North Dakota companies visited South America to meet with potential buyers of flax, peas, lentil and chickpeas.

Feb. 19:  Global Business Connections Conference – Held in Bismarck, this one-day event featured breakout sessions, a panel discussion on international business protocol and a keynote speech by global business entrepreneur Troy Hazard.

Feb. 19:  Global Business Awards Ceremony – Gov. Dalrymple presented awards to Legacy Steel Buildings (Exporter of the Year) and Trade Acceptance Group (Service to Exporters Award) during GBC 2013.

March 13-16:  ExpoActiva Nacional, Uruguay – NDTO and four regional equipment manufacturers had a booth at Uruguay’s largest agriculture equipment trade show.

March 19 & 21:  ND ‘Better for You Food Ingredients’ Conference & Exhibition – NDTO, the ND Dept. of Ag and Northern Crops Institute (NCI), along with 14 North Dakota companies, headed to Beijing and Guangzhou, China, to promote the health benefits of North Dakota’s food ingredients to Chinese food manufacturers and buyers.
